Poor nutrition causes approximately 45 percent of deaths in children under five years old. In result, that is 3.1 million children per year. Child hunger is more common in developing continents such as the majority of Asia and Africa. Collectively, Asia and Africa have 15 countries suffering from child starvation.
The list on the left side are some of the poorest countries that have suffered because of the lack of resources that are provided for them. The issue a lack of food, the issue is that there are are often no reliable pathways for getting that food from the fields into that hands of the people who need it the most. Many hungry countries lack accessible rural roads on which food could be transported into the countryside. Hungry children of the age of three and below can’t learn as much, as fast, or as well because chronic undernutrition harms their cognitive development during this critical period of rapid brain growth, actually changing the central nervous system. This infact can explain the low intellectual growth in poor countries, many children phase a hard time learning because of the low nutrition that their bodies is intaking. Most of the countries listed above don’t have transportation to help them carry out their most important need which is food. Children are the most important essential of our new generations, we need to take care of them in order for our population to exist. |
